IRD-DW2 Insulated Access Door Solution (RD + RD)
Solution for double-wall rectangular ducts with very thick insulation.
Two separate RD Access Doors are installed, one for the inner duct and a second one, preferably larger, for the outer duct.
Excellent insulating properties, since there are no thermal bridges.
Please observe the minimum insulation thicknesses below.

- Second RD access door (can be made of another material, like aluminum in case the outer duct is also made of aluminum)
- The air pocket trapped between the two access doors offers excellent insulating properties. To avoid any convection currents insulation chunks can be stuffed into the hollow spaces between the access doors.

For this access door version two independent RD access doors are combined depending on the circular double-skin duct characteristics and the insulation thicknesses (see RD access doors). Using metal knobs in order to install the IRRD-DW2 access doors on a round ducts having thinner insulation thicknesses as the ones indicated above does not work, as the bolt lengths remain the same. Using GX access doors for the inside duct reduces the minimum required insulation thicknesses (see below).

One GX access door is installed on the inner duct and one RD access door, preferably larger, on the outer duct.
Limitations:
The GX are only available in galvanized steel, and in only three sizes (200 × 100 mm, 300 × 200 mm und 400 × 300 mm). Please observe the minimum insulation thicknesses below.
