KS Control Dampers Installation Instructions

As depicted on the adjacent figures, either single or

double blade dampers can be installed. In any case the sides of the blades must be folded at a right angle creating a 20 to 25 mm high edge for stability and fixing purposes.
KS 10: Ø =  95 mm
KS 25: Ø = 230 mm

Spot-weld the damper blade on the inner pressed plates. The center line marked on the inner pressed plate shows the position of the damper blade. Damper blades should be manufactured within a tolerance of 2 mm to prevent duct wall bulging or from being pulled inwards on assembly. The dimension should be verified before fixing the second plate.

Cone cutters are very helpful for drilling the pivot holes
KS 10 = 14 mm Ø
KS 25 = 20 mm Ø

To install the blade in the duct, compress the spring loaded pivot pins and slide the assembly into the duct until the pivots spring out through the pivot holes.

Make sure that the arrow on the operating plate indicates the position of the damper blade. The plate on the other side does not need to be in a specific position. Then install the spring and spring washer properly and tighten  the screw on the side fitted with a spring.

Operation

To adjust the damper, release the knob until  the plates are no longer clamped. Adjust to the required position using the lever or actuator plate with reference to the arrow which is indicating the blade position. Then tighten the knob to lock the damper into position.

The fixing screw on the opposite side remains tightened during the adjustment of the damper, since the plates are pressed together by the force of the springs.

When using motor actuation the knob must not be tightened too much since the blade has to be able to rotate freely.

Light duty dampers
A lever is not required to operate them. Rotate the actuator plate with your fingers, as depicted (only KS 25).

Medium Duty Dampers
For these kind of dampers the lever should be positioned centrally on the plate, as illustrated.

Heavy Duty Dampers
The lever should be positioned on one side to obtain maximum leverage. Dampers are also suitable for motor actuation.
