METU Products Suitable for the Higher Hygienic Requirements of Hospitals


Maintaining a good hygiene has always been an issue in mechanical ventilation systems ("Indoor Air Quality" and "Sick Building Syndrome").

This is even more the case in hospitals where a contamination can have serious consequences.

Regarding the ventilation air-ducts, a higher hygiene level is mostly achieved through the use of:

 -   Air-tight air-ducts

 -   Air-ducts with smooth, easy to clean and dirt-retardant surfaces.

Product Characteristics

The characteristics of the following METU products help fulfilling these higher hygiene requirements:

The METU access doors reach the highest air-tightness class D (DIN EN 12237).

The silicone gasket has a smooth, non-porous surface which can be easily be cleaned.

The NBR gasket makes the access doors aerosol-tight (class ATC 1, DIN EN 16798-3).

The stainless-steel versions are more resistant to disinfecting chemicals.

The METU-FORM ducts, fittings and connections are liquid and oil tight and, consequently, absolutely airtight (ATC1, DIN EN 16798-3) automatically, that is without having to take any additional measures.

They offer dirt-retardant and easy to clean smooth inner surfaces.

Expert Opinions, Certifications

There is no official report confirming that the METU products are in line with the ÖNORM H 6020.
