Self-adhesive Rubber Edge Molding SKK  (ZI-204)

Use
Access doors with rubber edge molding (SKK). Designed to avoid injuries due to the sharp edges of the opening.

Material
Cross linked cellular rubber based on chloroprene (CR), filled with light materials and soot, and phthalate emollients. Color: black. Does not contain any silicon, halogen or polytetrafluor-ethylene. Our supplier confirms that the adhesive on the delivered profile is then results of a chemical recipe which does not contain any silicone. The absence of silicone does not refer to LABS substances that can adhere from the outside through handling or assembly aids - even unnoticed.

Glue / Rubber Sealant
Pasty, non-sagging, butyl paste based sealant with high solid content and not drying. The adhesive is resistant to fresh water, seawater, limewater, aqueous cleaning solutions; temporarily resistant to fuels,
mineral oils, vegetable and animal fatty oils. It is not resistant to organic acids, alcohol, concentrated mineral acids and strong caustic solutions or solvents.

Operating Temperatures
CR : from ≈ -30°C to ≈ +100°C
Rubber sealant : from ≈ -30°C to ≈ +80°C

Behavior under Fire    
Building Material Classification : B3, easily inflammable.
Fire resistance: not suitable.
Smoke emissions (S): not specified.
Chloric acid gases can be found in the combustion fumes. 
In case of fire a respiratory protection apparatus must be used.

Food Industry
Not suitable.

Outdoor Exposure
Good ozone, weathering, aging and salty water resistances.
Outdoor exposure and UV resistances: cracking level 0.
Ozone resistance (DIN 53 509): level 0.

Resistances
Chemicals are available in very different qualities. Their properties vary depending on their concentration, operating temperatures, possible mix with other chemicals and the eventual presence of impurities. This is why gasket manufacturers only provide general information about the resistance of their products to various chemicals. The adhesive offers only a limited resistance to chemicals. In view of the above it is advisable that the client runs some tests in order to assess if the gaskets are suitable for the intended application. Please also note the somewhat limited life expectancy of elastomers due to aging. Controls at regular intervals are recommended. We regret not being able to provide more precise information.
